WANT TO SUPPORT THE LAST OVERLAND?

We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people who’ve got in touch to ask how they can contribute towards the costs of the Last Overland Expedition. We’re very grateful for the offer.

But we wanted to harness that awesome goodwill from around the world to support three incredible causes close to our hearts: Dementia UK, Walking with the Wounded, and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Please choose below which of our three chosen causes you would like to support.

WHY THESE CAUSES?

Tim had a formative life experience serving in the Royal Marine Commandos during his British Army National Service in the early 1950s, which is why he’s keen to support UK and Commonwealth veterans who need that extra boost after leaving service. It was during his time in the army that he first visited Singapore, and formed a lasting bond with the country.

WWTW supports UK citizens who have served in the Armed Forces and their families, empowering them to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities. The Gurkha Welfare Trust ensures that Gurkha veterans, their widows and their wider communities are able to live with dignity in Nepal, through the provision of financial, medical and community aid.

For Alex, dementia is a disease that’s impacted his own family heavily. He wishes he could have brought his own car-mad granddad Harold (90) along on the road with him, but sadly after a 10 year battle with dementia Harold passed away on September 23rd 2019. Alex has chosen Dementia UK in particular as their Admiral Nurses scheme is providing the badly needed specialist dementia support that families need. When things get challenging or difficult, their nurses work alongside the entire family, giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions.
